West Valley students, athletes, and faculty hosted the Annual Powder Puff event on Wednesday night. Students had a blast switching roles on the field. The Sophomores and Juniors claimed victory in a fun-filled game that brought the school community together for a great time. It was an exciting evening for everyone involved!
We’ve introduced a slideshow showcasing sports schedules, upcoming events, and exciting highlights from our campus. This slideshow is displayed on TVs in two key areas: the attendance office and the cafeteria. Our goal is to provide students with a consistent source of information, helping them stay connected with everything happening at school. By keeping students informed and engaged, we’re fostering a stronger sense of community and school spirit.
A big thank you to our amazing TAs for taking on the tedious task of writing down the names of every WV student – all 740!
During our Wednesday staff meeting, employees walked around the library and initialed next to the names of students they strongly connected with. If a student has two initials beside their name, they can be skipped. The goal is to identify students without any initials, and staff members then volunteer to build a connection with those students. We want to ensure every student knows the adults on campus are here for them. Research shows that students who connect with a staff member are more likely to attend school regularly, put in more effort, and enjoy a better high school experience overall.
On Saturday, students from West Valley and Anderson High School participated in a fantastic event aimed at preparing them for their post-secondary journeys. Chico State Preview Day provided an insightful experience, allowing students to explore campus life, academic programs, and future opportunities.
