Our school enrollment is still holding at 732 students. Our average daily attendance this week is 94.63% as of November 14th. Of the 732 students, 136 have maintained perfect attendance, and 27 have had perfect period attendance since the start of the year. We’re so proud of our students’ dedication and commitment!
On November 7th, we contacted Eagle families and staff, inviting them to help us honor West Valley families with immediate family members currently serving or have served in the armed forces. We encouraged families to share a photo and the family member's name, branch, and years of service to Mrs. Domke. This allowed us to include them in a special social media tribute, showing our appreciation and respect for their dedication to our country. It was a success! On Wednesday, we celebrated World Kindness Day at West Valley High School. Students and faculty collaborated with Mrs. Domke to create a social media reel, encouraging everyone to embrace a simple yet powerful reminder: kindness matters. We never truly know the struggles others may face, and sometimes, a small act of kindness can make a difference. From opening a door, offering a smile, lending a helping hand, or simply listening, there are countless ways to show kindness. We can build a community that cares, supports, and uplifts each other daily.
The Eagle Vision program thrives, offering students a vibrant space for enrichment, credit recovery, games, and positive social interactions. Students enjoy the opportunity to unwind during lunch, grab a snack after school, or participate in PODS. This welcoming environment has become a popular hangout spot, with students forming connections and engaging in activities that support their personal and academic growth. We’re pleased with the program’s progress and look forward to sharing further updates in the coming weeks.
On November 13, 2024, West Valley FFA proudly hosted the annual Shasta Section Opening and Closing Contest, welcoming FFA chapters across the region. This event allowed teams to demonstrate their knowledge of FFA protocols and teamwork skills by performing the official opening and closing ceremonies of an FFA meeting. Congratulations to all the winning teams, and sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event successful!
We welcomed FFA state officers Joshua and John to West Valley last week! Their visit brought valuable insights and engaging workshops for our students. Thank you both for sharing your expertise, time, and dedication with us – we truly appreciate it!
Shasta Farm and Equipment hosted its third annual Show Pig Workshop at West Cottonwood Jr. High, and it was an incredible turnout! This workshop began three years ago to give back to the community 4-H and FFA students for their ongoing support of the family feed store and their dedication to animal care.
A special thank you to Jesse Warntjes from Associated Feed for his insightful talk on raising and caring for show pigs. Hats off to Jami and the team for organizing and to Rocking P BBQ for providing fantastic burgers! We’re also grateful to West Cottonwood Jr. High for allowing us to use their cafeteria – it was the perfect venue for a successful event.
Our Eagle Volleyball team captured their 4th consecutive Division 3 title over the weekend! In an impressive playoff run, they overcame two tough teams who had previously defeated us. The team traveled to Ripon on Tuesday for a hard-fought match, and though they came up short, we couldn’t be prouder of our girls. A huge thank you to all our Volleyball supporters for their encouragement throughout this remarkable season!
Last night, the West Valley Swim Team celebrated their season with an exceptional Swim Banquet, recognizing our athletes' hard work and achievements. We couldn't be more proud of their dedication and accomplishments!

The Cal Maritime women's basketball team stopped at West Valley High School on their way to Klamath Falls, Oregon, using our gym to shoot around and take a break from their long drive. We were especially thrilled to welcome one of their coaches, Tabytha Wampler, a proud West Valley alum and 2008 Senior Athlete of the Year. It was a wonderful visit, and we wish the team all the best in their tournament and safe travels ahead.
