LCAP Goal #1. Anderson Union High School District students will be college or career ready upon graduation.
Rotary Club FOY
The Redding Rotary Club held its annual Freshman of the Year luncheon on Tuesday May 13th at the Redding Elks Lodge. This year's AUHS Freshman of the Year as voted on by his teachers is Easton Justi. Easton is a 4.0gpa student who's favorite class is Mrs. Bradlyn's English Honors. Easton is very much into technology, he taught himself to code his 6th grade year, created a video game and has now created 20 video games. Easton enjoys helping people and would like to pursue a career where he can make a difference and help others.
Senior Awards Night
The date of the AUHS Senior Awards Night is on Wednesday May 21st and will begin at 6:00pm in the PAC building.
State Testing
We are finishing week three of state testing this week. We should wrap-up all clean-up testing for any students that missed all or part of Math, ELA, CAST and or ELPAC testing. We are currently sitting at 96.46% completion for ELA, 97.35% completion for Mathematics, 96.99% completion for CAST, and 100% completion for CAA. Mr. Costa only has a couple of students who need to finish a portion of their test until we have test all students that we have the ability to test. Mr. Costa and our teachers have done a fantastic job this year coordinating, communicating, and ensuring the best possible outcome for student completion and success on the state tests.
Spring Football
Coach O'Connell and the AUHS Football Coaching staff will be holding Spring Football practice on Monday May 19 through May 30. Coach O'Connell has been working periodically with our football athletes this entire semester during 6th period and after school.
Tryouts and Open Gym
-With Prom behind us now, leadership is shifting focus to planning our Powder Puff event in May. This is a rescheduled event that was cancel in the fall.
-We will have a spirit week and a staff royalty rally the week of powder puff (May 16th).
Leadership is preparing for end of the year Senior events:
Senior Farwell Rally, Senior BBQ, and Senior Sunset will all take place on May 30th. FFA will grill at the pool for the Senior BBQ and students will come back in the evening to have some fun at Senior Sunset.
Counselors are working on course requests and looking at ROP numbers. Counselors presented Scholarship Applications to the Anderson Community Scholarship Committee and had a record number of 36 applications for the AUHS Seniors!
On May 13th, AUHS FFA Students served at the the Redding Rodeo Hall of Fame Dinner.
Farm power students, learn how to level and plumb fence posts as we begin installing the new fence and automatic gate at the school farm.
Anderson FFA End of the Year Awards Banquet, Tonight at 6:00 pm.
Cub Connection hosted its annual “Red Carpet” event this week on May 14th. We started the evening off with a nice dinner and recognized our amazing students and of course our day staff. Two senior students were awarded scholarships as well

Cultural Day
AUHS is bringing back our Native American Cultural Day on May 21st. The district Indian Education coordinator, Mr. Dylan Baker, is organizing this event for our campus. Students will attend the events planned during their English class.
Faculty Meeting
We held the last faculty meeting of the 2024-2025 school year of Thursday May 15 were we went over upcoming events, deadlines, policy discussions, CAASPP update, celebrations, and collaboration expectations.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
AUHS SPORTS PHYSICAL CLINIC
The AUHS Boosters hosted a sports physical clinic on Monday, May 12th in the Sophomore Hall/300 Hall from 3:00pm-5:30pm. Several AUHS student athletes took advantage of this convenient and inexpensive opportunity to have all their paperwork done for next years athletics before we enter summer break. Thank you to Booster's Leni Baker and all those that helped make this a success.
Track
Track participated in the Division Finals on Thursday 5/16 with the following individual results: Taylor Ford placed 2nd in the Shot and in the Discus, Benny Guitron placed second in the 400m, and Connor Bushey placed 2nd in the Long Jump and 4th in the High Jump.
