HONOR ROLL
AUHS made Educational Results Partnership’s 2024 Honor Roll list of California’s top performing schools. We were recognized for being a school that has outperformed other schools in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations. Approximately 21% of California schools were given this distinction. Our teachers and students continue to work hard year after year and students consistently demonstrate tremendous growth in academics while attending AUHS.
Student Recognition Luncheon
We held our 1st Semester Student Recognition Luncheon with approximately 80 attendees to announce awards and provide a delicious lunch (served by the AUHS Ag department) for our outstanding students and their parents. Students were recognized for Senior Student of the Month, Student of the Month by subject, Citizen of the Month and Perfect Attendance.
STEM Career Day
The AUHS Math department took 120 underclass students to the 2024 Shasta County STEM Career Day on 11/15/2024. This is an annual event for all 9th grade students in the county to participate in. Students were able to hear from professionals in the field with a keynote presentation, halls filled with booths, and one hall for a STEM challenge/competition.
New Courses
The AUHSD Curriculum Advisory Committee met on Thursday 12/5/2024 to discuss proposals for new course offerings, textbooks, and navigating the three year science requirement.
LCAP Goal #2. Anderson Union High School District will provide a safe, orderly, and responsive learning environment for all students.
Post Secondary
On Tuesday morning Nelson Espinola, Michelle Fairchild and Clarisa Guzman from Shasta College were at AUHS providing our 12th grade student with an informative presentation on attending Shasta College next year.
Safe School Community
On Monday December 2nd from 3pm-5pm, TOSA Chris Dell and Principal Tom Safford attended an "Interacting with Your School Community" training by Mr. Gauthier from Lozano Smith. This training provided descriptive and prescriptive ways to create and keep a safe school community.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
Community
The AUHS boys and girls basketball program held the 4th annual Alumni Basketball game over Thanksgiving break. The event serves as a fun community event that brings alumni back to the school a fundraiser for basketball and cheer and an intarsquad scrimmage for all of our basketball players to prepare for the season.
AUHS had a group of Cheerleaders who were invited as All American Cheerleaders to perform along side of cheerleaders from across the nation to perform in the Disneyworld parade in Florida over their Thanksgiving break.
