Attendance
AUHS enrollment is currently 560 students. Last week's grade level competition for the best attendance was won by the Seniors. Each week we will announce the grade level that has the highest attenance rate.

Ms. Little always has a busy kitchen with Cubs coulinary. Students are not only creating delicious food, and serving the staff at faculty meetings, but Ms. Little takes advantage of the season and holiday to help with presentation and add a little extra fun.
The AUHS Counselors are attending SART meetings and scheduling Student Achievement Plan meetings for students students on the DFI list. Counselors are filling out Counselor Reports for Scholarships and Cal State Apply applications.
FFA News
This Thursday, Nov. 7th, two California State FFA Officers will be visiting Anderson High School and leading leadership workshops for our 200+ FFA Members!
On Saturday, Nov. 2nd, FFA Members volunteered at the Anderson Explodes Steak and Shrimp Dinner to support the annual fireworks show. Students served dinner, bussed tables, and assisted with the set-up and clean-up process.
Fair parent meetings are in full swing this week, talking with FFA Members and parents/guardians about their plans for raising animals for fair!
AUHS Robotics Club buildS 5 days a week from 2:45-4:30 pm and just had 2 builds days this past weekend from 9am – 4pm. They have attended one tournament and have one coming up this Saturday at Chico. There may be a scrimmage against West Valley and Corning in December or January. They will compete in a tournament on January 25th at CV. The team currently consists of 3 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 3 Juniors and 1 senior.
AUHS staff are currently selecting new students for the next two cycle of PRIME Time that begins Monday next week and extends until Thanksgiving. Teachers are working hard to hold high standards and ensure that students continue to improve and demonstrate at least grade level proficiency.
LCAP Goal #2. Anderson Union High School District will provide a safe, orderly, and responsive learning environment for all students.
Mr. Jason Pasero held the first ELAC meeting of the school year on Wednesday 11/6 with students, parents and staff. The ELAC is a group of English Learner parents and community members who advise and assist schools in making important decisions related to services for English Learners.
The California Education Code requires an ELAC be formed at schools with more than 20 identified English Learners.
Emergency Drills & Events
Principal Safford is in communication with the AFD Chief and Fire Marshall to meet the legal requirements and meet the unique needs of our campus to provide the most protection during drills and emergency events.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
School Site Council
The AUHS School Site Council will be holding the 2nd meeting of the year on November 14th in the Library at 4:00pm. Click Here for the agenda to this meeting.
Community Heart
Pastor Perry Peterson from Crossroads Church of Anderson and a prayer team visited Principal Safford on campus at 9am Sunday 11/3/2024 to pray for our school community (students, families, staff, administration, superintendent and school board).
The Math Department is going to start offering after school tutoring sessions through Cub Connection two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All of our Math teachers are participating and will rotate providing this tutoring service begining on Tuesday 11/12/2024. Cub Connection is also planning on utilizing students to help provide their assistance as peer tutors with the Math teachers after the new. Peer tutors will either be paid through Teen Share or log Community Service hours by helping as a peer tutor.
Due to a multitude of factors we had to postpone the annual Powderpuff football game until the Spring this year.
Tennis Champ
AUHS Senior, Madison Stewart, won her first match in the section playoffs this past Saturday against a Yreka opponent 6-1, 6-1 and then lost a close 6-4, 6-4 match a Chico opponent. The section tournament is single elimination but Madison had a terrific season and all of AUHS and Coach Penick are super proud of her.
Girls Golf
Freshman Logan Ceniceros competed in the NSCIF Championship at Riverview on 11/4. It was a great experience and she looks forward to being back next season.
Girls Basketball
Practice is underway, and players are working at the Anderson Jr High Girls Basketball Tournament the weekends of 11/1 and 11/8, which is a great event for local and visiting middle school girls basketball teams.
