This week in the Library we are talking about different literary genres. Remember, genre is another word for type or category. You probably already know a good deal about the types of books you like. For instance, if you are a big Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan, then you are also a fan of realistic fiction or fiction that's about everyday people and the things that happen to them. Books can sometimes fall into more than one category. For instance, the Wimpy Kid series falls into the humor or comedy genre too. Here's a breakdown of some popular genres. Think about the books you've read and see if you can place them in the right genre. Then, take a look at this Brainpop video about genres: https://www.brainpop.com/english/writing/literarygenres/ (Username: stuartsdraft Password: stuartsdraft)
