Being aware of the accuracy of what you read and see is an important part of being a responsible digital citizen. Online images are often changed or altered. Sometimes it is easy to see the changes like in the image below.
But, sometimes the changes are not too clear. Can you think of some reasons why someone would alter an image?
Here are a few ideas:
Entertainment—images may be altered to make them funny or interesting as in the case of the lion bird above.
Persuasion—images may be altered to persuade (to cause someone to believe something). Often the persuasion might be to purchase something.
