Class Rank is only based on final grades that earn high school credit. Class rank is first calculated at the end of a student's sophomore year and is only calculated for students working towards an Standard or Advanced Studies Diploma.
Class rank is a way to compare a student's grades to those of his/her classmates. Students are given a ranking based on their cumulative GPA.
The GPA and class rank that you apply to colleges with will be the GPA and class rank that you ended your junior year of high school with. GPA is only calculated two times during the year, once at the semester change (for semester classes only) and once at the end of the school year!
