The MBMS gymnastics team had an incredible season, competing in four meets and winning three of the four. They were led by their dedicated coaches, Mrs. Diggs, Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Cope, and Mrs. Sherin.
These gymnasts have shown a great load of teamwork throughout the whole season.
"We have been undefeated in most of our meets," Coach Diggs said "At our first meet, we competed against all schools, and the girls won it all."
"I jumped from one bar to another," seventh-grade gymnast Cora Pouge said.
Pouge explained how amazing and breathtaking it felt.
"I tried bars this year and It was an exciting experience" Pouge said.
Coach Nelson shared how she liked seeing the team grow.
"I love to see the girls try new things and learn from their mistakes..." "...training in gymnastics is hard but rewarding. Practices include warm-ups, skill work, conditioning, strength, flexibility, stamina, and targeted Improvement," Nelson said. " it's hard work but it pays off."
Despite a few injuries this season including a hand injury and a sprained ankle, the team has stayed motivated. Coach Nelson inspires her athletes with the quote "no pain, no game".
Beyond competition, gymnastics is about connection and growth.
"It's a way of building relationships and growing as a team," Alyssa Yescas added, "I love being with my friends and learning new skills, it's fun and challenging."
With supportive coaches and kind teammates, the MBMS gymnastics team had an awesome experience, filled with growth and excitement.
