Homemade Hot Air Balloons

On team Whitecap we made hot air balloons. You might want to know how we made them in class. Well it's actually quite simple just keep reading.
We have all had gotten into little groups and our groups that we picked usually met up after lunch. First we had to have a plan so we got a piece of paper and we put down the colors we wanted to use for our balloons. We had already cut out stencils for the shape of the gore in math class. we took the stencils and put them in the order we wanted to glue them in after we cut them out. We started to glue them together and then we hung them from the ceilings. We had lots of fun making these balloons and when we launched them, it was a blast!

Pumpkins -- What a Wonderful Thing to Decorate!

AMS had a pumpkin decorating contest! The challenge was… create a pumpkin that’s scary or funny. We weren’t allowed to carve out our pumpkins. We had to paint them, and decorate them any way we wanted to. The winner got Wallingford's homemade donuts. There was a lot of wondering who would win, but in the end it was Mr.Rowe’s CORE with Pennywise! Second place was Ms. Abbott’s CORE with Freddy the Fashionista! Great job, everyone!

Junkbox Drawings

Who wants a rock? Who wants soap? Who wants a million dollars? You might be able to find out who gets the soap if you read this article.
Almost every time we have a fun shirt day or something you can wear like a red and maroon shirt for example and you will get a junkbox ticket that you can put in a box. After lunch Ms Abbott will get up to the microphone and start talking to team Whitecap while we are sitting in the cafeteria. After she is done talking she will get out her special bag and everyone will start yelling of excitement. People really like bags. Ms Abbott will take some toys and stuff that she finds out of the bag and put it onto the table. She will take the tickets that we put our names on and she will call the names out loud. If it's your name you go up to the table and get a junk box prize of your choice. It is a lot of fun and you might be one of those special people that gets a bar of soap.
