CivicsSociologyPsychologyPractical LawLincoln Land Community College (A.A.)University of Illinois at Springfield (B.A.)University of Illinois at Springfield (M.A.)I knew I wanted to be a social studies teacher after taking a class at Lincoln Land.  I had a world history teacher that got me excited about history.  While taking that class, I discovered that I wanted to get students excited about History.   When I began my teaching career, I taught U.S. History and Government.  I currently teach Civics, Psychology, Sociology, and Practical Law.  I am so glad I have been given the opportunity to teach these classes.  I enjoy learning about people and love sharing that knowledge with my students.  Through my teaching, I am able to learn new things from my students as well.  My goal is to have students actively engaged in my classroom and have fun while learning.  I put forth my best effort to try to accomplish this goal.  I cannot imagine doing any other job.  I love that everyday with my students is a new experience.  Most of all, it is wonderful to be able to say that I love my job and enjoy coming to work everyday. In addition to teaching at Auburn High School, I also coach high school girls track.  Outside of the school, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, coaching, playing golf and reading.
