Title I

What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded educational program which provides "financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards" (Indiana Department of Education, 2018). Title I funds are used to provide additional instructional time to children who are not meeting grade-level expectations.

Attica Elementary's Title I program provides services to Kindergarten - 5th grade in Math and English Language Arts. Based on their academic performance, students receive small group instruction in the Title I room during Response to Intervention (RTI) periods. Title I staff work with students in small groups (groups of 5) on Math and English Language Arts academic standards.
