Soccer Season is officially upon us! On the 24th, the Atoka Soccer program competed in an all-day soccer scrimmage at Ardmore High School. They left the school at 6:00 a.m. and played until 8:00 p.m. While they had varied results in terms of wins and losses, it was a huge learning experience. I talked to Riley Henry to get his input. He says “I’m a new player this year so it really taught me a lot about the game. I was able to watch our best players, like Tallen Barrett, in action. Although I only got off the bench for about 3 minutes, I was still able to watch and learn. Even the girls team showed me so much! Wow! That Lucy Cochran really knows what she’s doing!”
The team has their first REAL game on Friday against Summit Christian at home. The girls play at 1:00 and the boys play at 3:00. It’s going to be a great! Everyone interested is invited to support our Wampus Cats!
