As we enter the spring semester, spring sports come along with it. Soccer is one of the most prominent sports of this time. To glean a good understanding of how this season will go, I interviewed one of the seniors, Lucy Cochran.

Lucy Cochran was gracious enough to spend her time discussing her predictions for the girl’s season. Since she’s been playing soccer since her freshman year, I knew she would be able to give a few well-informed expectations. Since she's been playing, the team has broken the record of games won per year. When asked what her predictions were for the season, she said “I think we’re going to have a great season! We have already begun working hard in our practices. Mrs. Lockhart is our coach this year, and we’re all extremely excited to have her working with us.”

Unfortunately, as of January 10th, the girl’s team only has 8 members. Lucy says that she has hope that they’ll either gain more players or play as they are and still have an awesome season. Lucy knows that it all boils down to the game. Even if there's not a surplus of players, they'll still have tons of fun. These girls love the game, and they are overjoyed that they just get to play. I asked Lucy if she considered asking the boy's captain, Tallen Barrett, to wear a wig to help support the girl's team. She said, “No, but if you see a strangely fast girl pushing players over don’t be shocked.”

Anyone interested is encouraged to join soccer!
