According to Mrs. Swift, “Swift Escapes is an interactive game that invites players to unravel puzzles and conquer challenges within intricately themed rooms—all against the ticking clock. Put your skills to the test and experience the perfect adventure for couples, friends, families, coworkers, and anyone seeking a fun experience!”
The Swifts have two rooms, one of which changes seasonally. “Granny's Heart is our main room. Participants take on the role of Granny Edna's grandchildren. Granny Edna recently died of a heart attack. Ironically, she was a well-known cardiologist who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Before her sudden passing, she had set up a game for her grandchildren to play to find her greatest treasure. See if you have the skills to search her home, solve puzzles and challenges, and find her treasure.” The seasonal escape room, “Candid Conspiracy,” will officially open on February 16th. “In this room, participants take on the role of a team of detectives and search the crime scene to discover who murdered a local photographer.”

The Swifts have a long history with puzzles and games, specifically escape rooms: “We've been doing them for years. We've always wanted to open a business that would give kids, teens, and families something different to do. Fueled by our shared love for puzzles, problem-solving, and a touch of nerdiness, Swift Escapes was born.” Not only have they opened a business geared toward families, but they let everyone in their household play a part in the business as well. “We love that we have a business that everyone in the family can contribute to.” Mrs. Swift loves designing the puzzles and crafting the stories, while “Mr. Swift excels in robotics, electronics, programming, and the intricate details of building.” Their daughter, Melody, uses her artistic capabilities to her advantage when it comes to designing the visual aspects of each escape room. Even their young son, Sampson, “fearlessly tests the durability of {their} creations.”
When it comes to prices, the seasonal room is $25 per person, while Granny’s Heart is $30. However, AHS students will receive 10% off using code AHS2024 from February 1st through March 9th. Swift Escapes is located at 16932 Main St., Coalgate, OK 74538 (the bright red house in Cottonwood). They are open Fridays 5:00-9:00 p.m., Saturdays 12:00-10:00 p.m., and Sundays 12:00-5:00 p.m. They offer other times as well if you call ahead of time. They prefer that customers book times online or call/text as they cannot always honor walk-ins.
