Our AHS YAHL group, which stands for Youth Action for Health Leadership, will be hosting a “Take Down Tobacco” pledge day in the month of April. When I asked Mrs. Hansen, the YAHL advisor, what Take Down Tobacco would entail, she shared that “YAHL members will go around and have any students who are 18 and older take a pledge saying that they’re either going to abstain from tobacco use or stop using tobacco products.” Those who wish to participate will sign a pledge card and can take a picture with it.
“It’s about being ready to make a change,” shared Hansen, “It’s going to be a fun event. We’ve got some stickers and stuff to hand out. It’s just an important message.”
