Private or Home Schools

If your child attends private or home school in the district, and you suspect your child may have a disability, please contact Debbie Campbell at 903-796-4194.  An evaluation may be conducted to determine if your child qualifies for special services.  An Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meeting will be offered to propose an Individual Education Plan (IEP).  The ARD committee will determine eligibility and ask for a Service Plan for private school children.

After consultation with private schools, parents of children in special education placed in private schools, and a review of funds available, the district determines what services will be offered.

A Service Plan would then be developed based upon funds available for services for children in private schools.  These services typically include but are not limited to:  speech therapy, materials to assist private school teachers/staff, or training for private school teachers and staff.
