iLAUNCH: An ASEAN eHealth Interactive Launch

The Institute of Philippine Culture (IPC) of the Ateneo de Manila University, through its HATID ASEAN project, held iLAUNCH: An ASEAN eHEALTH Interactive Launch on 21 August 2019. Held at the Novotel Manila Arena Center, iLAUNCH was a groundbreaking event that acted as an avenue for eHealth collaboration.

Innovative projects from the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia were featured. The Philippines displayed two technologies. The first was eHAIN Mo, a web based application that documents reports from feeding and nutrition programs. The second was eHATID LGU which provides an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) that creates health reports. Indonesia showcased their BALITA SEHA application that is capable of accurately monitoring the development and consumption behaviour of children under the age of 5. Thailand featured the Bangkok Aging app which aims to help elderly citizens access various health services.

This initiative is in line with the ASEAN Post 2015 Health Agenda that reiterates the significance of health and nutrition as a foundation for society’s welfare. By creating a space for information collaboration, events like iLAUNCH encourage the development of technological innovations in monitoring and promoting health that consider particular socio-cultural, political and economic contexts of ASEAN member states.
