Ateneo de Manila Provides Educational and Capacity Building Opportunities to Policymakers

The Ateneo de Manila offers a variety of programs to provide training and capacity-building opportunities to policy and lawmakers.

The Ateneo School of Government’s (ASoG) flagship program is a degree in Masters in Public Management Program (MPM). The MPM is a thirteen-course program designed to enhance core competencies in leadership, public service and good governance. The program aims to produce graduates who are able to provide solutions to challenges in the agency, institution or community they are part of.

Accredited by the Civil Service Commission, ASoG also conducts regular workshops and training sessions for the government sector. These are facilitated by their pool of consultants and resource persons who are experts in the fields of policy development, leadership and governance.

ASoG, in addition, offers the JVO Executive Education Program that focuses on teaching ethical governance and sustainable development. It was intended to build cooperation between public and private sectors with the common goal of national development. This program has trained more than 1000 political leaders, civil servants and corporate managers.

Aside from the School of Government, the Loyola Schools’ Department of Political Science also offers a Masters of Arts in Political Science program, which aims to develop leaders who are aware of the constantly changing nature of sociopolitical issues such as poverty, social hierarchy and exclusion, and democracy, among others.
