Ateneo Policy Center

The Ateneo Policy Center is conducting a study entitled the ‘Anti Drug Campaigns in the Philippines: Effectivity and Sustainability’ which aims to investigate the economic, political, psychological, legal, and social effects of the ongoing anti-illegal drugs campaign in the Philippines.

The initiative is a collaboration with other partners, including researchers from the De La Salle Philippines and the University of the Philippines, and The Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism from Columbia Journalism School. The goal of the first phase of the study is to create a multi-institutional archival database of the drug related killings. The second phase, on the other hand, intends to conduct a legal analysis of the anti-drug campaign framework. The preliminary results of the study were shared in a public forum last April 2019 at The Loft, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University

The Ateneo Policy Center, through the Ateneo School of Government, aims to tackle the economic and social dimensions of political inequality through research studies and evidenced-based discussions in order to help guide policy makers in crafting reform strategies in the areas of business, political processes and social/environmental protection.
