The ASEP-CELLS Energy Policy Series is a two-part webinar that features emerging research in the field of energy and serves as a platform for discourse among stakeholders in the energy sector, including government agencies, the academe, and civil society organizations.

Dr. Laarni Escresa, Senior Research Fellow, and Mr. Adrian Glova, Research Assistant, present their study entitled “Politico-Economic Determinants of Electric Cooperatives’ Performance: do political variables affect the quality of service?”


In the panel discussion, Dr. Escresa and Mr. Glova were joined by Professor Majah Ravago of the Ateneo Economics Department and Atty. Vicar Lofranco of the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

Ms. Joyce Lagac, Research Associate, and Dr. Josef Yap, Senior Technical Advisor, present their study entitled “Managing the Energy Trilemma in the Philippines Using Optimal Portfolio Theory”.


In the panel discussion, Ms. Lagac and Dr. Yap were joined by Dr. Romeo Balanquit, Assistant Professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific, and Dr. Rogelio Golez, Jr., Assistant Professor at the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan.
