Action, character, and compassion. These words best describe Mique as a student and as a leader. In his years of stay in the Junior High School, Mique has always exhibited kindness, quiet action, and generosity in his time and efforts, and the people who were fortunate to interact with him notice these and appreciate him even more as a person, as a friend, and as a leader.
Despite the many obstacles that came his way, both as a student and as a leader, Mique persevered and worked his way towards overcoming these obstacles, never losing sight of his values and those that the school has instilled in him. Always one to weigh the consequences of his decisions, Mique is also known to listen to his classmates, teachers, and fellow leaders. This shows that Mique understands what it truly means to be leader-- that he serves not himself, but those who placed him in that position.
Mique may have achieved so much in his student life, but what makes him stand out from the rest is his vision and his ability to stay grounded amidst the trials and achievements that come his way. While Mique continues to soar, his feet are always planted firmly on the ground.
BAUTISTA, IÑIGO UNO V., L10 Ferreres
Confident leadership. This is Igo’s brand that has truly left a mark on his clustermates, friends, and teachers. His quiet demeanor and simple actions reflect the humility and the sincerity he possesses as a person and as a student leader. The effort and dedication that he has exhibited paired with his generosity and patience make him all the more appreciated by the people he interacts and works with.
Igo’s creative and candid nature also makes him shine as a student leader. His ideas for projects and activities and his lighthearted but kind ways certainly make him stand out. One can certainly tell that Igo may take his responsibilities seriously and fulfills them systematically, yet he never forgets to have fun with his fellow leaders and friends. This is translated into the success and the quality of the projects that he implements-- they are unique, but they never lose sight of the ultimate goal which is to unite the student body and to extend help to those who most need it.
Igo is certainly a rare gem of a student, and his light can never be dulled.
GUTIERREZ, LORENZO MIGUEL P., M10 Maunoir
Joy and dedication are at the very heart of true servant leadership, and these traits were exemplified by Renzo. From assisting his teachers during class gatherings to helping his organization grow, Renzo has shown dedication and joyful service. Inside the classroom, the little details that he attended to brought the class together and did not go unnoticed by his classmates. After all, these little things mean a lot when they’re done with care and concern. As a class president and as an org head, he was able to make a lot of good things possible through his leadership, making sure that his classmates and his org mates are involved in their endeavors. His leadership was greatly appreciated and recognized because he poured his heart in everything he did, and these things he did not for himself but for his friends and peers.
This leadership that was full of heart and joy also translated to the friendship that Renzo offered as he has always made himself available to his friends, especially when they needed him. He lifted others up without putting too much weight on himself.
Renzo continues to be an inspiration as an effective leader to his classmates and his org mates. He is a true friend, but more importantly, he is an extraordinary person.
MUAÑA, ROLEN JAN E., C10-Briant
Someone who exceeds everyone else’s expectations ang goes beyond what is needed, that is Rolen. From his academics to his duties as a student leader, this gentle soul exemplified reflection, efficiency, and proactiveness. He showed care and diligence in his studies, always one who goes beyond his teachers’ expectations. Moreover, Rolen always has ideas to share with his friends and classmates to help make their initiatives run smoothly. He has always proven himself to be a valuable member of his class and of the organization that he is part of.
As a leader, his shyness was outweighed by his efficiency and his vision for the CSO and for AKAY, and what was more important was that he listened to his peers. His level-headedness and his knowledge of the student body’s perspectives helped him pay closer attention to the students’ needs. Rolen’s reflective and effective leadership has certainly left an impact on the student body and in the organization and council that he has led. It is no doubt that wherever Rolen goes, he will certainly be recognized for his impeccable character and leadership.
PONCE, JACQUES ZACHARIE THADDEUS P., M10 Mangin
Zaq has truly come a long way in both his academics and in his leadership roles. From being an eager fledgling to being an assertive and a motivating leader in the cluster that he was part of, he has certainly left a positive and a lasting impression on his schoolmates, friends, and even his teachers and formators. His attention to detail and his organized way of doing things has made him efficient and outstanding in every aspect of his student life. Seeing him deliver excellently and in the very spirit of Magis is truly inspiring and uplifting. One would think that at such a young age, Zaq is already doing more and being more in all aspects of his young life.
Through his vision and his own brand of leadership, Zaq has truly become an inspiration to his schoolmates. Just as he was able to achieve and to make things possible with his dedication and his perseverance, he has empowered his fellow student leaders so that they, too, can achieve the same things and reach the same goals. He is an achiever and a leader through and through.
VILLEGAS, FRANCIS T., L10 Garnier
Doing more and being more. This is what Francis has consistently shown in his years in the Junior High School. He is one of our many students who have truly embodied all the values that the school upholds, but what makes him even more remarkable is his humility and his character.
His intelligence and competence are certainly unmistakeable, as seen in his academic achievements, and his creativity also shines through. His talent, vision, and attention to detail were certainly put to great use through the many projects that he has helped plan and implement.
Francis, in all his achievements and contributions to the school, is and will always be an inspiration to his fellow leaders and students, and even to his teachers. Ultimately, his character and his kindness are what make him precious to everyone’s eyes.

Plunging into the deep and tumultuous waters of this pandemic school year was not an easy task, but if there is one group who was able to shine and to overcome the challenges together, it would be the AJHS Sanggunian Executive Board or more fondly known as the “Sanggu E-board”. All ten of them dutifully embraced their positions and the challenges that came with them, specifically the task of involving the entire student body in their learning and in their school’s affairs. The projects that they have implemented for the benefit of those who were greatly affected by the pandemic and by natural catastrophes made an impact on the entire school. It was not easy creating such undertakings, but because the desire to help and to serve was clear to them, they were able to see these through while juggling their roles as students and as sons.
This group may have been a mix of different personalities and strengths, but in the end, this group was a kaleidoscope of colors that sparkled beautifully. Each one of them, in his own way and through his own brand of leadership, contributed greatly to the school. To this, much appreciation is given.
ARIAS, ALFREDO JOAQUIN C., Science Subject Area
In the storm that was the pandemic and the shift to online learning, it was reassuring that there were still individuals who were willing to light the way for the rest of us. Like a lighthouse beacon, Mr. Arias helped various groups in our school to navigate the new landscape. Mr. Arias supervised, co-produced, and edited the Sanggu-JHS videos that were posted online at the start of the school year to inform the community about our shift to online learning. He also took charge of the videos used in the recent Research Project Conference of the Science Subject Area. His reach is also widespread because he was invited to give a Magisterial Lecture, an Arete Project, and his Youtube Channel dyeyzzon has received many comments thanking him for his instructional videos about online learning.
BOONE, TYLER JARED L., Campus Ministry Office
AND
MABAGOS, FRANCIS J. G. I., Educational Media Center
Mr. Tyler Boone and Mr. Kiko Mabagos are both recognized for their contributions in the online streaming of our community liturgies and spiritual activities throughout the school year. Despite the on-going community quarantine and restrictions brought about by Covid-19, they have shown their dedication, commitment and selfless service to the AJHS community by regularly going to school amidst the risks, and making the necessary set-up and preparations for the online streaming of our school-wide masses and other spiritual activities (class recollections, faculty spiritual hours, etc). The online liturgies and spiritual activities have been very meaningful for our much needed spiritual nourishment and growth during this pandemic.
CAPINDING, RONAN B., Filipino Subject Area
Aside from being a caring, inspiring and effective teacher in the classroom, Mr. Capinding is commended for his directorial contribution in the critically acclaimed play, Password:O3d1pu5_R3x, “Tanghalang Ateneo’s modern-day reimaging of Greek playwright Sophocles’ classic tragedy Oedipus Rex” (https://www.mypope.com.ph). The play portrayed current social issues and provided a lens to understand the current Philippine society. By its nature, the play has also reached people globally creating avenues for important social discourse. In addition, Mr. Capinding is the vice chairman of AKTOR: The League of Filipino Actors’ Board of Trustees that advocates for the welfare of actors.
The creative and resourceful way on how the play was pieced together as a movie, despite the quarantine, and Mr. Capinding’s advocacy for actors truly exemplifies Magis -- making do with what you have, making something to the best of your ability, and sharing your work with others.
For Individual Achievement, the student must be a gold, silver, or bronze medalist.
For Team Achievement, the group must be the champion in their category.
