In recent years, local and international programming competitions such as the ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition (ACM-ICPC) for college students and the National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI) and International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) for high school students have been gaining more and more attention. These events are opportunities for students to demonstrate excellence in programming and problem solving, as well as venues to benchmark against other schools, possibly from other countries. Students and coaches alike are therefore challenged to prepare well for these contests.

As part of our efforts to increase our country’s competitiveness in the fields of information technology (IT) and computer science (CS), the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS) cordially invites your teachers and students to apply for inclusion in the Ateneo Summer Programming Camp (ASPC). The ASPC is a two-week, half-day competitive programming training seminar for high school and college students and teachers. Joint participation – one or more teachers and one or more teams of students per school – is encouraged.

This year, we are offering two separate tracks of ASPC.

Open to all incoming high school students from Grade 10 to Grade 12 for school year 2018-2019, as well as Grade 12 students who are graduating in school year 2017-2018, it is designed for students who have absolutely no background in programming. There will be identical morning and afternoon sessions, and students must choose to join either the AM group or the PM group.

Open to all high school and college students and teachers who already have some programming experience, but who have little to no experience in standard data structures, algorithms, and competitive programming.

The camp will be held at Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City, at the following dates and times.
