Before working with Jacob, I had a lot of trouble in my calculus class. I had failed three of my four quizzes, and I decided to begin seeking professional help from Jacob just a week before my final. I quickly discovered this decision was well worth it. He helped break down concepts I struggled to understand during my whole time in calculus like integrals and series convergence tests as well as differential equations, all while giving me a deeper understanding of how they work. In turn this also helped bolster my problem-solving skills and confidence with math. Thanks to his tutoring and encouragement, my grade took a 180 and I ended with a grade higher than I expected. Additionally, after I told him how much I improved, he had as much joy as if he was the one who had improved, which made me feel good because it shows that he truly cares. Not only is Jacob very knowledgeable in the field of mathematics, he is also a great instructor. He is very easy to work with and creates a perfect balance between coach and guide, knowing when to step in and help. He distills complex concepts into easily understandable information (something that would normally take over two hours of Googling will now take five minutes to understand). And Jacob does not waste your time or money; if he knows you can figure something out on your own, he’ll just guide you in the right direction.
