Our Creston Cougars participated in National School Lunch Week by inviting their parents to lunch. Our students were beyond thrilled to take a moment from their busy day and have lunch with their parents.

On October 18th our students, along with students all over the state, participated in The Great California Shake Out. By practicing Drop! Cover! Hold On! our students are learning how to react automatically if an earthquake should hit. Our students and staff did an outstanding job ensuring that our students we be safe in an emergency! Great job, Cougars!

With the support of Safe Routes to School, Creston Elementary School, along with children from more than 40 countries, participated in International Walk to School Day on October 10th. Our kiddos had a blast walking to school with their families and peers. Safe Routes to School provided all of our participating students with awesome stickers and neat color changing pencils. Great job, Courgars!!

Pablo Picasso's drawing help us to appreciate his natural artistic talent as well as our own. Picasso's genius brought about so much in his drawings, with often just a single, well thought-out line in pencil. His simplicity helped our 4th and 5th grade students to realize their own talents. They created beautiful line art as a means of expressing their own artistic ability.

Respect

We respect the views of others and cultivate positive, professional relationships that are built on trust and accountability.

Mystery Science Question?

If you were stranded on a deserted island, how would you protect yourself from the sun with only the items in your lunch box? Mrs. Ginnell's innovative 2nd and 3rd grade answered this question by making hats to protect their skin!

Excellence

We aim for the highest levels of performance and achievement for our students, staff, and community.

Walk and Roll Wednesday was a huge hit at Creston! The kiddos loved riding their bikes to school and increasing their strength, balance, and overall fitness! Nice Job!

We respect the views of others and cultivate positive, professional relationships that are built on trust and accountability.

Relationships are at the core of a successful learning community and help us foster learning at Creston Elementary School. Mrs. Grinnell and Mrs. Shadowen's kiddos are using Caring School Community to help big buddies and little buddies learn about one others’ interests, opinions, and ideas, and to treat one another with respect.

Teamwork

We recognize the talent of our students, staff, and community and understand that we can provide a world class education through teamwork.

Mrs. Walter's fourth and fifth grade class work together, gathering input and ideas from their groups. They are role models for demonstrating teamwork!

Atascadero Unified School District and the Lighthouse Foundation have partnered to be able to offer after school enrichment classes for 3rd-6th grade students. The goal of this program is to engage young people in positive and fulfilling activities so that they can develop and nurture an intrinsic desire to be and to do good for themselves and others in our community. Atascadero USD and Lighthouse have selected program leaders who have a commitment to mentoring the students they are teaching, and who are committed to the goals of the program.

Elementary Robotics: Each school has a Robotics club which meets weekly to build, learn about code, and compete in friendly competitions. The Robotics club is a year-long participation commitment. Please see your school's site secretary to connect you with your school's Robotics Club Leader.

Our kindergarten and first grade students had fun making Pete The Cat masks to go along with the stories our librarian has been reading to them.

Great California ShakeOut Earthquake Drill

Creston Elementary Students and millions of people worldwide practiced how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On at 10:19 a.m. on October 19* during our Great California ShakeOut Earthquake Drill.

Participating was a great way for our kiddos to be prepared and know what to do in case of an earthquake.
