Morgan's Commercial and Investment Bank, where he leads strategic investment, partnerships, innovation, and thought leadership across climate, energy, water and natural resources(Minerals) technologies and infrastructure. With 15+ years of experience, he's an expert in climate science, sustainable investing, and financial risk hedging (parametric insurance and derivatives). Prad is committed to accelerating decarbonization and adaptation solutions for clients through innovative financing and advises J.P. Morgan leaders on resource allocation.
Previously, Prad was a VP at Lazard Asset Management, developing climate-focused investment theses, and Director of Research at Arabesque, creating innovative climate products. His Ph.D. from Columbia University focused on quantifying global warming's impact on extreme weather, alongside developing novel risk management instruments. He consulted for hedge funds and startups on weather derivatives and catastrophe modeling. Prad also held positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (equity derivatives) and Tata Steel (Metals and Mining).
He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, an MBA from the International University of Japan, and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (India).
