is the Ralph E. and Rose A. Hoeper Engineering Professor and Foundation Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also the Director of Nevada Water Innovation Institute, a university-utility collaboration to drive leading edge research and innovation in the water sector. His expertise and interests are in the fields of water quality and wastewater treatment, water resource recovery, potable water reuse, and environmental biotechnology.
Dr. Pagilla is also a Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers, Water Environment Federation and International Water Association. He has received the Camp Applied Research Award and Fair Distinguished Engineering Educator Medal from the Water Environment Federation, among his many honors and awards. He has held numerous leadership roles including Member of EPA Science Advisory Board, Member of Stockholm Junior Water Prize International Jury, Chair of International Water Association USA, President of Nevada Water Environment Association, and President of Illinois Water Environment Association.
Dr. Pagilla has a PhD degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of California (Berkeley, CA). Dr. Pagilla is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois and California, and Board-Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.
