is an independent curator, writer, and Assistant Professor of Art History and Museum Studies at Arizona State University. She is a historian of global modern and contemporary art and architecture whose research focuses on critical studies of citizenship, comparative borderlands, and material and ideological imaginings of land, landscape, and environment in modern and contemporary art. Since 2009, she has organized exhibitions and public programs for institutions such as Independent Curators International, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art, Portland State University, the Shanghai Biennial, and the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School. She has published articles and reviews for journals including ARTMargins, Critical Inquiry, Journal of Curatorial Studies, Museum Management and Curatorship, The Journal of Holocaust Research, and Third Text. She regularly writes art criticism for Art in America and Hyperallergic.
