Guidelines:
The portfolio consists of one project completed by the student in a Materials Science Engineering class, chosen by the student, from the student’s iPOS showcasing the quality of the graduate education he/she has received. Students choosing the MS portfolio option must select One significant projects from previously completed graduate MSE prefix coursework listed on their approved iPOS (excluding MSE 584). The portfolio is then the concentration of the reports (presentation slides are acceptable if no report was submitted for that project) submitted to the instructors of the two selected graduate classes. Please submit a cover page which includes your student information.
A summary page needs to be included describing what courses the projects were carried out in, whether they were single or group projects, and in the latter case what was the student distinct contributions. The summary page must also include an explanation why these projects were selected for inclusion in the Portfolio.
Please use the template below. You can make a copy of the GoogleDoc or Download it as a Word Doc to edit. The portfolio must consist of 10 pages including the cover page, summary and any reports.
The Graduate Program Chair will be solely responsible for judging the quality of the portfolio and determining if it is satisfactory to serve as the required culminating event for the MS—non-thesis degree.
SEMTE Graduate Survey- Your portfolio should also include the SEMTE survey, which can be found at the following link: SEMTE Graduate Survey
Please be advised that your portfolio grade will not be recorded in the iPOS unless the survey is received. You may use the document below as a formatting guide.
