MAE PhD students preparing to take the qualifying exam need to schedule an appointment to meet with their academic advisor to discuss the process for scheduling the exam. This must be done at least 15 business days prior to the exam date.

Once the exam has been scheduled with the advising office, please send the following to your committee at least 72 hours prior to the exam:

• • • A short (1/2 page to 1 page) description of the expected research to be conducted during the PhD program,

    • A copy of the ASU graduate iPOS, and

    • A list of any graduate course taken outside of ASU (if applicable).

Please also remember to bring a copy of the MAE Qualifying exam form to your exam
