Color grading is hard...

This footage was recorded with the Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6k. I made a few quick and simple attempts (#1 & #2) at color grading the footage shortly after it was shot. I thought it looked okay at the time, not great but reasonable. Then upon returning to have another look a few days later my subjective judgement on what looked "good" had changed considerably. So I went back to the drawing board and started from scratch.

The final version is much improved over the previous two attempts...at least I think so.*

Crazy that the same footage, the same tools, and the same operator could yield such drastically different results at different times.

*Meanwhile, it should also be noted that improper White Balance errors during recording created significant challenges in the overall color grading on this edit. The final look sacrificed some warm tones in the shirt to achieve more natural skin overall.
