Check job eligibility first: Before you accept a job or sign a contract, contact Career and Professional Experience Services (CAPES) to make sure the position meets your program’s requirements.
Find a qualified mentor: After you’ve accepted a position, work with your site administrator to identify a qualified mentor teacher.
Initiate Universtiy Internship Agreement: Once hired, the student initiates the University Internship Agreement (UIA) on their own.
To complete the University Internship Agreement (UIA), you will need to know what grade you are teaching, what subject (if departmentalized), mentor's information (Name, Email, Educator ID), and your site adminstrators information (Name and Email).
CAPES review and approval: Once you’ve filled out and signed the UIA, CAPES will review and approve it before routing it to your site administrator.
Administrator signature: Your campus administrator will receive the UIA via Adobe Sign and must sign it.
Placement entered into Sonia: After all signatures are collected, CAPES will officially enter your placement into Sonia.
Report any changes: If your mentor, subject area, or grade level changes, you must contact CAPES for approval before making any updates.
