Policing

Policing in the USA has become a hot-button issue, particularly as it relates to movements such as #DefundthePolice, #BlackLivesMatter, and #BlueLivesMatter. Many factors contribute to the challenges facing police and communities today. Homelessness, discriminatory policies, inadequate training, and lack of trust are just some of these factors. Currently, our police departments are the first responders for incidents that they often do not have appropriate training to diffuse and appropriately handle. How can we better understand the issue and learn from other models or philosophies of policing?
