LEARN MORE BELOW
The New Beginnings Program is a parenting intervention for divorced and separated families. Decades of research have shown that the program improves children's mental health and functioning in the short- and long- term (up to 15 years later!) after parental separation/divorce.
In order to increase access to the program, I have recently adapted the New Beginnings Program to a podcast format. Parents can learn skills in the podcast to help their children after divorce.
To understand if the podcast truly works to help parents and children, we are now conducting a research study to study its effects on parenting and children's mental health.

Yes! You can earn $50 for participating in the form of an online gift card.
Additionally, if you have a child who is eligible and desires to participate, they can earn $40 in an online gift card for participating.
We also hope you and your children benefit from listening to the podcast.
For parents, participation will involve:
Completing 1 survey that asks questions about yourself and your children.
Listening to 1 podcast episode a week for 5 weeks (each less than 20 minutes) and practicing the skill you learn in the episodes. You will receive 1 episode each week for 5 weeks.
Completing a second survey that asks questions about yourself, your children, and how you used/liked the podcast.
In total, participation will last about 7 weeks.
For children, participation will involve:
Completing 2 surveys that ask them questions about themselves and their relationship with you. The surveys will be taken about 7 weeks apart.
The screening survey will ask you for information demographic information about you and your children, such as your children's ages, whether you are separated or divorced from their other parent. It will also ask you to provide contact information. It should take 5 minutes.
If you are eligible, a member of our research team will reach out to you to confirm your eligibility and enroll you in the study.
