POS 294: U.S. Intelligence Community
This class will be offered Tuesday, Thursday at 1030. The course is designed as an introduction to the U.S Intelligence Community and will serve as a future prerequisite for a certificate in U.S. National Security and Intelligence Studies, which will be available in Spring 2026.

BLUF: Updated regulations to DAFI36-2903, as well as references for posting on personal social media accounts.
IAW the 31 March 2023 changes to DAFI36-2903, below are a few changes that were made:
Change 2.13.7.3, Food, to include gum, will not be consumed while walking in uniform, the consumption of beverages is still approved however military customs and courtesies take precedence.
Change 7.3.5.2, New colors authorized for gym bags include olive drab, Air Force sage green and OCP patterns. Logos of any size are authorized; however, the bag must be conservative and not contain any profanity, gang affiliation, or political statements. (USSF ONLY) There are no color or logo size restrictions when carrying the gym bag by hand or while in uniform.
Change 7.3.5.3, (USSF ONLY) There are no color or logo size restrictions when carrying a backpack by hand in civilian clothes or in uniform.
Be advised, the USSF exemption only applies to cadets who have been selected as Guardians. All cadets will abide by Air Force instruction until selected for Space Force service through ROTC. There are supplemental changes as well so I will attach DAFI36-2903 for your convenience.

There are over 3,000 tutors who offer services in over 250 subjects. Tutors speak both English and Spanish. According to their website 95% of students reported improvement in grades. The Luigi Iori Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of a brilliant man who appreciated the opportunity to pursue a college degree and committed his professional life to military service followed by a stellar career with the Federal Aviation Administration. Luigi Iori’s path from being a farmhand on his family farm to a career as a leading designer of both airplanes and airports is truly inspirational and impactful. Mr. Lori established standards in aviation, and aviation design, that continues to influence modern aviation methods, procedures, and designs.
Requirements: This scholarship will support students with financial need who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree and pursuing a path in civil engineering. Students must be active in the ASU Air Force ROTC or be a Veteran of the US Air Force to be eligible for the award.
This award is selected and administered externally by the ASU Foundation.

On Tuesday, 25 February, from 0700-0830, ASU will be hosting an "In the Moment" training session. This training will be held in SS Building, Room 314, and will provide us with valuable skills on how to become a better wingmen, friend, and leader.
It’s a training focused on how to respond effectively when individuals confide in us about mental health, relationship violence, or other personal matters that might arise in college or in the active-duty military. The session will equip us with the tools to offer support and make our detachment a better place!

1. The Air Force is accepting applications for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) for interested cadets. IPAP offers cadets an accelerated path towards a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from the program’s underwriter, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). IPAP is a 29-month program conducted in two phases. Phase 1 is a 16-month period of intense classroom and hands-on instruction conducted at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston. Phase 2 is a 13-month period of various clinical rotations at a military medical treatment facility.
2. Applications will be accepted from 01 Oct 2024 through 20 Jan 2025. Cadets are responsible for preparing and submitting the required documents through the UNMC IPAP Centralized Application Service.

The Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO) has invited AFROTC cadets to participate in the 2025 Project Global Officer (GO) summer language programs. Project GO provides opportunities for ROTC cadets and midshipmen to engage in intensive language instruction and cultural immersion primarily in summer programs in the U.S. and overseas in strategic languages.
The application window opened on 15 Oct 24. Applications close 15 Jan 25 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Programs are open to all cadets, but AS200s are not recommended for study abroad due to field training. (Field Training takes priority!) Soon-to-be newly commissioned Lieutenants awaiting active duty are not eligible.

The National Security Agency (NSA) Experiential Tour (NET) internship provides an opportunity to expose future Air and Space Force officers to the NSA and its associated missions. Cadets will be immersed in real world cryptologic challenges, engage with senior leaders from the intelligence community, and contribute to classified projects.
The NSA has provided 12 AFROTC cadet allocations and will make all final internship selections.

The Sensors Directorate Internship Program for Summer 2025 is a research internship in a collaborative environment bringing together experts from the U. S. Air Force, universities and industries to address layered sensing modalities, artificial intelligence, aerospace components and sensor components, multispectral exploitation and detection, spectrum warfare and high- performance computing to enhance Air Force capabilities. Approximately 10 cadets will be selected from AFROTC.
Internships are held at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and Wright-State University at Dayton, Ohio. The program training dates are scheduled between 12 May 2025 – 10 August 2025. This is a paid internship.
Eligibility Requirements:
U.S. citizen with valid driver’s license.
Open to any year level (except AS200s & FY25 400s) and any STEM major. Any AFSC; most applicable for 61X, 62X, 17X, or 15A.
Recommend Cumulative GPA of greater than 3.0 (Sensors Directorate Requirement).
Enrolled in an undergraduate degree taking at least half-time academic course load.
Available to work full-time (40 hrs. per week) and take personal responsibility for arranging transportation to and from worksite. Cadets will be paid an hourly wage of $19.90 - $26.50/hr., depending on their college year level.
NOTE: Cadets should not rely on transportation from anyone who does not already have base access. Program administration will not be responsible for making additional arrangements on a cadet’s behalf to provide suitable transportation.
Pass a background check, potentially resulting in a Secret Security Clearance.

The FY25 Nuclear Science and Engineering Research Ctr (NSERC) Summer Internship Program announces an partnership with DTRA on a paid internship that will prepare future officers for counter WMD strategies. DTRA will select 30 x AFROTC cadets nationwide. There are over 35 possible locations nationwide and training dates are TBD but expect Summer ’25.

The United States Space Force (USSF) Spring 2025 USSF Application Board will be selecting FY27 and FY28 Advanced EA individuals to commission into the USSF.
The USSF Application Board is voluntary and cadets who meet eligibility criteria may volunteer for this board. Cadets who are selected for the USSF Spring 2025 Application Board will be eligible to compete for a USSF Enrollment Allocation on the PSP 25 Board. Cadets selected for a USSF EA will not be allowed to compete for any future USAF selection boards or special commissioning opportunities (e.g. Rated, Special Warfare, OSI, Non-line, etc.) dependent on Department of the Air Force requirements.
Cadets interested in volunteering for the USSF must complete the USSF Guardian Survey. This survey should only be filled out by cadets seeking to commission into the USSF. Failure to complete the survey on time will result in exclusion from the USSF applicant pool.
