The whole of Aston Lodge were so grateful that Father Christmas made time to stop-off at our school again this year. Each and every child received a gift from him and were all super excited!
We have all settled down for a movie night this term. KS1 and KS2 enjoyed watching The Polar Express, with a cup of hot chocolate, snacks and snuggly items! EYFS also enjoyed a movie night with pupils and their parents, which included pizza and other yummy snacks!
The children and staff at Aston Lodge enjoyed a delicious Christmas Dinner last week. Our catering staff and school council have been working hard to bring you a new and tasty spring-dinner menu!
All staff and pupils at Aston Lodge Primary School would like to say a huge thank you to all who attended our Christmas Fair this year. We raised over £1000 for our school and community!
We have very much enjoyed inviting parents into school over the festive period to take part in Christmas craft activities with their children and look at all of their amazing work from this past term. Thank you for taking the time out to accompany your children during these events, it is very much appreciated.
Y1 and EYFS have both enjoyed visiting Gulliver's Valley in the past few weeks. Pupils and their parents have loved meeting Father Christmas and the elves and having fun on all the theme park rides.
As part of PSHE, and Anti-Bullying Week, we took part in activities which 'Made Some Noise' to celebrate the theme this year. We learnt a song per class, with the boom whackers, and then performed these in an assembly at the end of the day.
We also enjoyed our ‘Its okay to be odd’ sock day on Monday and making an Anti-Bullying poster to be displayed around school. Well done Aston Lodge for being so enthusiastic about no bullying in school.
Our committed school councillors have been working hard with Miss O'Brien and the catering team. They have been tasting some possible options for our spring-dinner menu. It was a close call between two amazing options, so we made enough sample pots at dinner for every pupil to try.
As well as all that, our school council helped out during our school referendum. Local councillors visited our school to help us decide on our new school song. 'Reach' won, with over 80% of the vote!
In an initiative to make our school look as beautiful and blooming as possible, our eco-committee have been busy planting some all-weather plants around the school grounds. We are looking forward to how amazing these will look in the coming months.
Hazel class had a fabulous time at the Wickersley School pantomime ‘Robin Hood.’
The children were really inspired by the cast and many of the children have now commented that they would like to be part of a Drama group. Well done everyone!
The whole school also enjoyed their Granny Norbag Pantomime in the hall on Tuesday 19th December. It was a great end of term treat!
We have been loving our new English and Maths programme called IXL. Students have their own, unique login and can practice and develop their skills online. Teachers can set tasks and monitor their progress too!
The children at Aston Lodge Primary School are always striving to be the best version of themselves! They have been earning, on average, five dojo points a week since returning in September. We celebrate these amazing milestones with a certificate at 50, 100, 150 and 250 dojo points - to trade in and spend at our Dojo Rewards Shop!
