The Music Department of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School seeks to offer musical education to all interested students. Here in the Music department we develop and follow a curriculum that adheres to the National Standards and Massachusetts State Frameworks. The Music department provides students with many musical skills such as a means to acquire musical skills, growth in their Musical skill of choice and provides most of its students with performance opportunities.

Derek Tenzar, known as Mr.Tenzar, Tenzar and many different nicknames by the students, is the Music teacher at Assabet that joined in 2015 and teaches all the music related classes. Tenzar is an excellent musician who is proficient in several different instruments, one of which is the saxophone, his primary instrument of choice for years. Tenzar is energetic and charismatic teacher who is always looking out for your success. He cares for his students and helps students in anyway he can to reach their musical peak and beyond that.
