PRCP Faciliators

ASLIA will draw upon a pool of out-of-province Deaf and hearing interpreter facilitators. Each

facilitator will have a minimum of 15 years as a working interpreter. When possible, ASLIA will

seek retired interpreters (up to 5 years) as a means to reduce the perception of a conflict of

interest.

Facilitators will have a thorough knowledge of the CASLI Code of Ethics and Professional

Conduct Guidelines and this PCRP. They will also have a solid understanding of Demand

Control Schema (Dean & Pollard, 2013) and communication and mediation approaches to help

parties identify the issues and potential options for resolution. ASLIA will train each facilitator

to ensure consistency in how complaints are managed.
