We will explore Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Norse mythology and read excerpts from Riordon's books and  Ovid's Metamorphoses .  All students will learn the Greek alphabet, choose what God or Goddess most represent their personalities and skills and be given Greek or Roman names and Demigod powers. We will create our own diorama of a perfect cabin for our demigods, play outdoor games testing our omnipotent skills to navigate a labyrinth. Students will plan and create 3D mythical monsters. We will  make our own camp t-shirts, as well as battle togas and create our own demigod identity,  Students will also sample Greek, and Egyptian foods and host a feast fit for an Olypian God with all the decor. We will discuss the myths behind the constellations and astronomy as well. Mythology is the basis of many famous works of art and novels throughout history. All students will benefit from this content in a fun, hands-on activity-based class. Students will thrive in this class if they have read any mythology books  but prior reading of the series is not required.
