About the PTA
The Ashhurst School Parent Teacher Association consists of a group of keen, passionate and supportive parents, a teacher representative and the principal, working together to enhance students’ success. Meetings are held approximately two evenings a term in the school staffroom, and offer a great way to meet new people, and be more involved in your child’s learning. Our common goal is to improve the resources and learning tools, which are not covered by the school’s general budget.
Some of the things provided by the PTA in the past include:
- Funding towards the sandpit building project
- Outdoor-sized chess and draught sets
- Robotics kit
- Picnic tables
- Donations towards camp fees ($20 000 donated 2016)
- Donations towards the Year 8 Leavers’ dinner
The PTA organises fundraising events such as:
- School discos
- Sausage Sizzles, hot dog lunches
- Abacus calendars, diaries, notepads and cards
- Art Auction
- School Gala
- Swing Ball
We always welcome new ideas for the benefit of our children.By becoming a member of Ashhurst School PTA, you can become an important part of helping to ensure fundraising events are effective, and plans to enhance Ashhurst School’s resources are realised.
If you don’t wish to join the PTA, but can offer an hour or so, a couple of times a term, to help with fundraising events such as sausage sizzles, please consider adding your name to our Friends of the PTA list.
