After the student researchers has:
Completed all onboarding actions (acceptance, onboarding documents and activated ASDRP Google Account)
AND after orientation
In your email, you will receive a notification that a Canvas account has been created for you.
Parents will receive their account when their student researcher has completed all of the above.

ASDRP Students simply log in with your ASDRP Google Account into the website and/or app.

Go to Parent Login
Click Forgot Password? and add your email.
Make sure it is the same email we mention on the activation email!
Go to your inbox and set a new password.
It might take a few minutes to receive the canvas email.
Why are there so many courses in my account?
You will see multiple courses in your Dashboard. Most of them, are courses your student is enrolled in. The exception is the parent welcome course you (the parent/guardian) must complete in order for the student researcher to join a lab. Make sure to read the Course Packets.

Course packets contain everything you need and are responsible to know about your Canvas Courses. They include an overview of important expectations, deadlines and assignments.

How do I see my student's progress?
Go to any of the courses (except Parent Pre-Work, that one is for you!) and see your student's progress.
If you do not want to wait, see how to pair your account with your student and become an observer here.

Read the Course Packet, many courses are required and you will receive academic penalties if you drop them. See section titled above titled How do I access Course Packets?

How do I know an assignment has been completed?
How do I know an assignment has been completed?
Click on the assignment name from the course or grades page, then look for the "Submitted" status, which should appear with the date and time of your submission, possibly next to a green checkmark.

How do I access Course Packets?
How do I access Course Packets?
Visit asdrp.org and access the Student or Parent portal for the corresponding Pre-Work Packets. You should have received the packets and/or your portal password through email AFTER all orientation sessions are over. Search in your inbox for an email titled "Next Steps".
Advanced courses like Research 201, Life Sciences 101, Computer Science 101 and others have their respective packets accessible at the Student Training portal, which is also accessible through the Student portal. New students must prioritize Pre-Work.
Parents can access the Parent Pre-Work Packet at the Parent Portal. Your password is sent to your email with the title: ASDRP - Next Steps
