The Indigenous Education Department provides services for academic enrichment and cultural identity for Alaska Native and Native American students. We believe it is important for all students to share themselves as a valued member of their community. We teach students to explore and share their own unique cultural identity. This is a valuable element in ensuring that they succeed in school and life readiness.
Students are eligible if they or their parents/grandparents are enrolled in a federally recognized tribe.
Students who are Alaska Native or Native American that have completed an eligible 506 form with documentation (CIB or Tribal Card) are enrolled in the Indigenous Ed program.
Enrolled students gain access to:
Cultural events & enrichment
Resources for cultural identity and awareness
Family engagement
Indigenous language enrichment
Summer Enrichment Programs
Academic and school support
