Teacher Forum

The purpose of the Anderson District 2 Teacher Forum is to:

  • give recognition to school teachers of the year.
  • develop a professional learning community that fosters teacher leadership.
  • give teachers a voice in educational issues at all levels (local, state and nationally).
  • impact the professional development of other teachers by encouraging its members to facilitate the development of leadership skills among their peers.
  • be advocates for our teachers, our students, and our communities.

The Anderson District 2 Teacher Forum exists to:

  • encourage educators to become actively involved in the leadership and advocacy for our profession.
  • mentor and monitor new teachers within the profession to help promote retention.
  • facilitate greater communication and understanding related to local, state and national educational policies by providing opportunities for teachers to communicate with each other, district administration, educational leaders, policymakers, legislators, and the communities we serve.
  • educate and empower fellow teachers to take action and make informed decisions on current legislative issues and upcoming elections impacting education.
  • monitor and improve teacher morale by assisting schools with administering needs assessments that target morale in order to build a community network that increases the recognition of teachers.
  • monitor and improve school/community interactions in order to develop the potential that exists in every student to meet the needs of a changing world.
