Meet your teacher

Yvette Adèle  |  Fourth Grade  |  Ascent Classical Academy Douglas County

Greetings Fourth Grade Families!

My name is Ms. Yvette Adèle, and I am delighted to partner with you in your child’s education this year.  I wanted to reach out to everyone before the school year began to say hello and tell you all a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in Southern California and spent most of my childhood playing on the beaches, building sandcastles, and collecting seashells.  I met my childhood sweetheart, a Colorado native, while snorkeling and water skiing, and now we have been married for 41 years.  We have two children, both married, and five grandchildren.   Our eldest grandson began kindergarten at Ascent Classical Academy last year

It is such an honor to be part of a school that offers so much to our students both academically and in moral development.  The richness and beauty of our curriculum is truly unparalleled.  I have taught fourth grade every year at Ascent since the school opened its doors in 2018.

In my spare time I love to read, spend time with my family, visit museums, and in the summer months my husband and I take every opportunity to hike, camp, and stargaze in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Prior to teaching grammar school, I classically homeschooled junior high and high school in addition to teaching Western Civ/History classes for the local Homeschool Co-op.  I then spent several years teaching and developing educational programs for K-12 Museum Education for both the Minnesota Historical Society and the University of Colorado, where I also served as the Museum Exhibits Manager.  I hold an AA, BA, and MA in History from Minnesota State University (all Summa Cum Laude), with an emphasis in the history and heritage of Western Civilization.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children, and I hope you will reach out with any questions about our classroom and the year ahead.

Warmest Regards,

Ms. Adèle
