We All Play On The Same Team

To watch the 2022 documentary that includes refugee stories from our very own ASB community:

What is RefugArt 2024?

RefugArt is an annual student-led fundraising event that combines the power of art and philanthropy to raise awareness about the global refugee crisis. This year, the executive committee aims to shine light on the importance of the refugee's human right to participate in sports and play. Through our event, we will celebrate and pay tribute to refugees with a day full of stations for students where they will learn all about what refugees are, how they can help them, and hear about different refugee experiences. Students may also buy art pieces whose proceeds will go straight to aiding both refugees and other affected individuals. In addition, the evening event will be held from 18:30 to 21:30 in the auditorium and is open for parents and other guests. Here, Mr. Pingetore will deliver an opening speech, there will be an institutional speech from UNHCR, there will be a round table discussion including Ms. Chandler (a specialist in inquiry and play), Edelmira Campos (an external relations officer from UNHCR Spain) and Shahid (an immigrant athlete and founder of RUNIthe), which will be followed by an explanation of the Botswana mission and a presentation of the "Games from Around the World" Project, then the infamous live auction featuring artwork from all grades will occur and will be followed up by a musical performance: "We Are the World" by 4th grade students featuring Jan and Carson. The event will end with the yearly cocktail in the ES playground with music.

April 26th: Schoolwide Refugart Day (from 10:00-16:00) - Closing Ceremony (18:30-21:30)
