ASA 2022 STEAM EXPO

PROJECT SUMMARY

For this project I was creating a physical representation for an underrated person in STEAM. The person I chose to work on was Franklin Chang-Díaz.

WHY?

I did this project to show how people of color are not recognized for their accomplishments anymore and it's really important to show equality upon everyone.

HOW?

I created this project with a recycled olive oil bottle, recycled cloth, yarn, and other materials. I use the olive oil bottle for the body, the recycled cloth for the body's clothes, and the yarn for the hair.

WHAT?

My project turned out great and unique. It was a very long process but it was all worth it.

SO WHAT?

I found out how successful people of color can be but it's all unspoken.

WHAT'S NEXT?

This project really inspired me because it was really fun and challenging and I also got to learn about an important person in STEAM.
