It has become increasingly hard and time consuming to find activities in your neighborhood. Pioneer is a local social networking app that helps you find amazing activities and meet people with similar interests in your city!
Through traditional methods of finding activities or planning a vacation, you normally spends hours scrolling through websites, blogs, and articles. There is a vast amount of data all across the internet on activities in each city, but it has become extremely hard to find the right activities. There is no simple way to just open an app and quickly see thousands of recommended activities in a city that are presented in a concise form, so you can quickly choose to do them or not.
It all started with creative brainstorming to come up for features, who the customer is, how will this product be presented to the customer, etc. After that, I worked on UI/UX for it. I fully designed the prototype for the app and launched a pre-launch sign up waitlist website. Pioneer's waitlist took off, and grew to hundreds of interested people!
Although the MVP/Prototype has not yet publicly been released, there was a huge amount of interest in the product. Our waitlist grew to hundreds of signups across the US, in major cities from NYC to LA. With this group of people who signed up, we performed user research to see how we can change the features to best fit our customer base.
The results are extremely important. Performing market validation not only helped us see what features we should focus on, what we need to change, but it has also attracted potential investors in the product. I learned so much from building this product. Everything from how to bring customers onboard, create mock-ups, prototyping, and other super useful skills.
The next steps for this product is to launch our prototype. We will continue to create strategic partnerships with social media creators, businesses, and more all in the travel industry that can be active on our app.
I have worked on this project with my amazing co-founder!
This is really impressive work. Not only did you imagine a brilliant and much needed app, but you marketed your idea and networked in impressive ways. What are your next steps?
