What is coding? well its basically computer programming, it is the process of performing a particular computation, usually by designing/building an executable computer program. For my project, I learned many different ways that I can do coding on a computer to make digital art, I did this by using the CMU CS Academy website.
Well, I learned the different inputs/code that i could use to make digital art, on python. I was trying to answer the question of How does coding work? at the same time trying to learn and know more about how computer programming works.
To demonstrate my learning from the CMU CS Academy website, we decided to put into use the different codes and commands that we learned and create a piece of digital art following a set of rules and a set theme. This took a lot of time and brought along many fails.
I was successful on my projects, I was able to use the things that I learned and apply them to a digital drawing, by using different shapes, colors, inputs, etc. After doing this I found out that computer programming is not as complicated as I thought, you basically are just writing commands for your computer to follow, just like a teacher giving directions to students.
The results that I got are important since they help visualize and demonstrates how computer programming works, the results of my project also gave me some clues and answers to my question and it has helped me get another step towards finding what I was trying to find. The conclusion that i was able to draw from my results is that coding is basically you giving commands to your computer, thus hey are able to follow those commands, for instance taking an input and generating an output.
What i could do to extend my project s to get to learn more about coding, this can be achieved by using different websites, taking advice from professionals, and learning other coding languages and compare them to Python.
All of these ideas I got from our Intro to computer Science with Mrs. Lederman, our whole unit was about computer programming and coding. She gave us the websites and the instruction for all of the activities and projects that we did.
Nice work, J! Way to challenge yourself to learn different types of coding. I like how you compared coding to a teacher giving directions to a student. In what ways can you apply this skill to potential work settings?
