Geography

National 4/5 Geography January plan:

In National Geography, we cover 3 main units and below are the topics we still have to cover during Term 3:

1) Physical Environments - Rivers (recap from S3 - this will likely happen once back in school to enable map work to take place

2) Human Environments - Rural

3) Global Issues - Tourism

In January, we will start with the Tourism topic, covering 2 case studies: mass tourism and eco-tourism. For mass tourism, we look at the Caribbean and how significant volumes of tourists impacts on the local people and environment, alongside how to combat some of the issues with this. We also look at eco-tourism in the context of Kenya, and how increasing tourism there can both help and hinder the local people and environment.

Microsoft Teams:

Pupils can join the National 4/5 Teams page if they have not already done so, using the following code: 1j96tyd

All work will be posted weekly on a Tuesday to the class Teams page via the Assignments tab. Pupils will have a full week to complete all work set, with a live class call at one point during usual Geography class time to discuss feedback/tasks/help with the set work. All pupils are expected to attend the live Teams call to best support them to reach their target grades.
