Frequently Asked QUESTIONS
Do we get pocket money?
There is a small shop with gifts such as hats, t-shirts, rulers. A maximum of £10. I'm afraid there is no sweeties or fizzy juice.
Are we allowed hair dryer/ straighteners?
Yes, you are able to bring hair dryers and straighteners.
Are we allowed spray deodorant?
You can bring spray deodorant with you, but roll on deodorant is preferable, as overuse of sprays can set off the fire alarm!
Can we take digital watches?
Yes, but they are your own responsibility to look after them. Unfortunately watches with in-built cameras are not permitted.
Do children need sleeping bags and pillows?
Children will need to bring a duvet cover, single bed sheet and a pillow case. Pillows and duvets are provided.
Can we take our own wetsuits?
You are welcome to bring your own wetsuit but it must be full length.
Can we take cameras?
No, but the school staff will be taking plenty of photos and sharing them with families.
Can we take mobile phones?
Yes, but these are handed into the school staff at departure. Please be warned that the location is remote and a signal is not guaranteed.
Each day the pupils will have 1/2hr to make calls from a secured location usually after dinner time.
Midge Haven!!
This part of the word is the home of the dreaded midges!!
We strongly advise children bring a repellent with them.
Any repellent containing DEET should be effective however the Royal Marine Commandos that do practice drills up and down the Scottish west coast swear by Avon Skin-So-Soft and have done for decades!!
